The Highways Heroes awards are delighted to announce that over 50 individuals have been shortlisted for an Arcadis Personal Impact medal at this year's ceremony The prestigious awards which are presented to individuals whose selfless actions have made a personal impact to members of society have become one of the most prestigious parts of the ceremony and are the only award which recognises multiple people for their selfless actions. Previous winners have been given this blue ribbon award for selfless actions such as putting themselves at risk of personal harm to prevent others from attempting to take their own lives and other acts of courage. The Personal Impact medals are one of the highlights of the annual ceremony and are presented as part of the climax of the gala ceremony. Recognising the heroic actions of individuals who have coped admirably in the face of adversity, the awards place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on December 7th the awards recognise those who have gone above and beyond their duty, to help someone or improve a situation, either in the communities they work in or to unconditionally support fellow workers in their team. Speaking about the partnership with Arcadis and their sponsorship of the personal impact medals, Freya Wells, Co-founder of the awards said, "The support for the Highways Heroes Awards from Arcadis is a testament to how far this ceremony has come in its relatively short journey. "From concept to smashing the norm around the usual corporate awards to something which focussed on those we put to work and celebrating our unsung heroes the awards have cemented their place in the hearts of our sector. "To see organisations such as Arcadis truly embodying this is a humbling experience and I give my personal thanks for their commitment ." Arcadis will become one of a selected number of blue ribbon gold sponsors of the event alongside Galliford Try, Balfour Beatty, Keltbray, Octavius Infrastructure and Bam and the medals on the evening will be presented by Sian Wittaker, Chief Operating Officer and Simon Bimson, UK Lead, both of Arcadis.
