Justin Manley to return as one of the hosts of this year's Heroes Awards .... but who will join him?
Highways Heroes are delighted to announce the anchor host of this year's blue ribband awards will be renounced safety speaker Justin Manley.
Returning for his second year, this will be Justin's first as lead host following stalwart Richard Marshall's decision to step down after a glittering four years at the helm
Justin, owner of Titanium Talks, is a renowned speaker who uses his own brush with death to advocate to the workforce which safety on sites is of paramount importance and following a highly acclaimed debut at last year's event he now steps into the hot seat as anchor for the first time.
Following his debut which he describes as highly emotionally charged Justin explained that he cannot wait to again be a part of the historic event despite nerves at having the responsibility of carrying the event on his shoulders
"I won't lie it was one of the most terrifying things I have ever done in my life," he explained referring to the 2024 event.
"The challenge of reading from an autocue for the first time with one eye is not something which is easy, believe me."
"When I was approached with the offer to join the hosting team I didn't think twice before saying yes."
"But as they day approached I have to admit I did ask myself on more than one occasion, what the hell have I got myself into."
Despite that Justin did not hesitate in saying yes when asked by the organisers if he would be happy to step into the role of lead host, despite the enormous shoes he has to fill,
"Rich Marshall is Mr Highways Heroes, he has hosted the event since day dot, so to be asked to fill his shoes and carry the event is an honour but also an incredibly daunting task.
"Last year I was the funny side-kick this time around I have to carry the whole thing and do justice to all of the incredible winners."
Despite revelling in taking centre stage at the event, Mr Manley also admitted that he is non the wiser as to whom his co-host will be on the night as the organisers remain tight lipped about the subject, he explained.
"I have spoken to Kevin (Robinson, the founder) about his plans and believe me I am totally in the dark.
"He actually told me, and I am hoping that he was joking, that maybe this year he will break with tradition and have just one host."
Supported by both National Highways the awards are the first time the supply chain and the client body have come together to recognise the value and importance of those unsung heroes we put to work everyday.
Taking place on the 26th November at the London Hilton on Park Lane, the event will be a celebration of those individuals who have gone over and above their job role and really made a difference to their peers and members of the public.
